The "home of Guinness" was built in 1904 — it was used as a Storehouse and for fermenting beer until 1988. The visitor center, dedicated to the history of Guinness, takes up seven floors shaped around a giant pint glass (if full, it would contain 14.3 million pints of Guinness). The popular facility brews over three million pints of Guinness a day — that's a whole lot of beer!

Over one million visitors from around the world come to the Guinness Storehouse Brewery every year to learn all about its world-famous stout — including the Four Ingredients that go into making a perfect pint of beer, the Brewing Process and the Tasting Laboratory. You can even learn how to pour your own pint of Guinness!

Pouring & Drinking
the Perfect Pint

Did you know that there's a technique to pouring and drinking the perfect pint of Guinness?

Pour and let the brew settle for exactly 119 1/2 seconds (no more, no less). Once it's settled, top it off.  Before drinking it, raise your elbow and block the foam on top with your lip. Then take a big swig. The foam is the most bitter part of the drink, so by blocking the foam, you get the really sweet stuff.
Cheers mate!

Ever tried a Black Velvet? It's a mix of Guinness and Champagne. Very refreshing!
