"Bed-In for Peace" @ Amsterdam Hilton

The Amsterdam Hilton Hotel, located a short walk from the old city center, Vondelpark, is famous for John Lennon and Yoko Ono's 1969 "Bed-in for Peace" which was staged to protest the Vietnam War and to promote world peace.

John and Yoko spent their honeymoon in the hotel's Presidential Suite (#702). Their highly-publicized "Bed-in" lasted for one week (March 25-31, 1969)— in which press from around the world were invited into their hotel room every day between 9am and 9pm. Shortly after their stay in Amsterdam, John and Yoko wrote and recorded the classic "Give Peace a Chance."
