Bali is one of the world's most popular and scenic tourist destinations. Filled with history, Balinese culture and natural beauty, we loved exploring this magical island. Today it's even more popular then ever, thanks to the 2010 blockbuster movie "Eat Pray Love" starring Julia Roberts.

Bali is famous for its magnificent temples (there are thousands of them), breathtaking landscapes, stunning wood-carvings and stone sculptures, Balinese paintings, batik clothing, religious ceremonies, fabulous Indonesian cuisine, lush picturesque hillside rice paddies, and miles of beautiful sandy beaches.

And no visit to Bali would be complete without seeing one of the island's colorful traditional Balinese dances — the Kecak Dance, the Fire Dance and the Saghyang Dance.

Ubud — Tegalalang Rice Paddies
Ubud, located in the mountains of central Bali, is considered the arts and cultural hub of the island — home to wonderful palaces, Hindu temples, museums, and talented artisans. Be sure to visit Ubud's bustling outdoor marketplace — fun for shopping and people-watching! Enjoy traditional Balinese dance performances — this was one of the highlights of our trip to Bali. Another was our visit to Ubud's scenic Tegalalang Rice Terraces — truly one of the most spectacular sights in Bali.

Kuta and Kuta Beach
Kuta is located in southern Bali — it's sandy beaches, beautiful sunsets, surfing, nightlife, restaurants and shopping makes this one of Indonesia's major tourist meccas.

Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple
Pura Luhur Uluwatu is one of Bali's most spectcular temples — it's perched on a cliff 600 feet above the sea on the Bukit peninsula.

The temple is located about 45 minutes from Nusa Dua and just over an hour from Kuta. For Balinese Hindu's, this site has special mystical powers (only the Besakih Temple is more sacred) — it's an ideal spot to meditate!
