The train departs Beijing every night at 9:30pm and arrives in
Lhasa just under 48 hours later. The return trip departs Lhasa
daily at 8am.
Note: Due to the high elevation, be sure to drink
lots of water. Save money and buy bottled water in advance or
at the Beijing train station vs on board the train. And don't forget
to
bring
your own toilet paper. Check with your doctor prior to your trip
regarding pertinent medications. More Info

required — including a valid Passport and Visa.
Local Transportation Tips
Before you leave your hotel, ask the Front
Desk to write down the name, address and phone number of your hotel
in Chinese. Also have them write down your destination in Chinese
and show this to the taxi driver before setting off. Remember,
not everyone speaks English.
