Cuisine: Punjabi Indian
Description & Atmosphere
London doesn't disappoint when it comes to its variety and abundance
of Indian restaurants. One of the city's standouts is the eclectic
Punjab Restaurant, conveniently located in Covent Garden.
Opened in 1947, it is the UK's oldest North Indian Restaurant.
Today, the highly-acclaimed eatery is still owned and run by the
same Punjabi family.
Modern decor in a cozy, comfortable setting, The Punjab Restaurant
is ideal for entertaining clients, business associates and out-of-town
guests.
Food
Punjabi food uses a careful blend of herbs and spices to create
a full, "balanced" flavor.
Award-winning Punjabi cuisine includes:
the Historic Flambé Chicken Tikka Special,
the Acharri & Anari Gosht (Chef's Lamb Specialties),
the classic and delicious Kadu Pumpkin Sabhji and Grandad's
Special Kali Dall (taken from Grandfather, Gurbachan Singh
Maan's secret recipe).
Be sure to order a side of the Peshwari
Naan (special Punjabi bread filled with coconut and dry fruits)
dipped in Raita (natural Yoghurt with freshly diced
cucumbers. The combination of flavors is magical.
