The Victoria & Albert Museum — also referred to
as the "V&A" — is
the world’s greatest museum of design and the arts.
Throughout the year, the V&A offers a wide choice of special
events, exhibits and activities. Our favorite past exhibitions
have included "Celebrating Art Deco" and "Versace" — a
major retrospective of the work of fashion designer Gianni Versace.
The
Museum features ceramics, glass, textiles, dress, silver, ironwork,
jewelry, furniture, sculpture, paintings, prints, photographs
and contemporary art spanning the cultures of Europe, North America,
Asia and North Africa, dating from ancient times to the present
day.
In addition to its extraordinary
displays and extensive galleries, the museum also houses The
National Art Library (NAL), a major research and reference
library; the Archive of Art & Design; the Beatrix Potter Collections
and the V&A Archive. National
