Dining at the world famous Pacific's Edge Restaurant at the Highlands
Inn is an unforgettable experience. The dining room's
impressive "wall
of windows" offers diners a stunning
view of
Carmel's coastline
and the Pacific
Ocean.
Be sure to bring
your camera to capture the moment — it is particularly
romantic during the sunset, on a fog-free day.
Food
The food is sensational — it reminds us a little of Gary
Danko in
San Francisco. Guests have a choice of "three, four, or five-course
menu selections, in addition to the “Chef’s
Menu.”
During a recent visit for dinner,
we
each selected the "three-course" menu. Although portions
are on the small side,
this was
more than enough food. Note
that prices
are
the
same whether you choose a salad, vegetable or entree.
Enjoy Abalone, Lobster,
Scallops, Veal, Lamb and Beef (photos
above) — a
lot of protein...very rich...and extremely filling. Overall the
food
and dining experience
was excellent.

The food and wine list is sensational — it's no wonder that Pacific's Edge
Restaurant has won numerous dining awards, including the AAA 4 Diamond and
DiRona 2005 Awards. The Wine List features over 1,700 labels and is a perenial "Grand
Award" winner from Wine Spectator.

Sunset Bar
The Sunset Bar, situated just off
the Pacific's Edge Restaurant, is a great place to enjoy a cocktail
before dinner — the sunset views overlooking the ocean are
spectacular, especially during the winter months.
Lobos Lounge
The Lobos Lounge (located just off Pacific's
Edge Restaurant and the more intimate Sunset Bar) offers great
sunsets all year round.
