Whaler's Cabin Museum
Whaler's Cabin (photo above) is located a short walk up the road
from Whaler's Cove. Built by Chinese fishermen in the 1850's,
today
it
is a Cultural History Museum — and
the oldest building on Monterey Peninsula.

The Whaling Station Museum
The
Whaling Station Museum (photo above) sits adjacent to the Cabin. It
features displays of harpoons and whaling
tools, whale-oil barrels, a model of a shore whaling boat, diagrams of
whale-oil
processing,
and
photographs of the old Monterey Peninsula whalers.
Museum Hours
Open as staffing permits,
generally from 11am-3pm.

Whale Bones
Be sure to check out all the
Whale Bones — remains
of
a
Fin,
Humpback
and
two Grays scattered around on
the
ground — they're quite a sight. 
Whale-Oil Pots

Guided Walks
A schedule of Guided Walks for the month is posted at the entrance station.

Requests for Nature Walks, Cabin Tours, and Slide Programs
led by Rangers or Docents
for schools and private groups require advance
written application.
