Annual Cherry Blossom Festival, Japantown and Japan Center

Blossom Grand Parade, S.F. The Grand Parade features over
1,500 brightly colored costumed participants including: Mikoshi
(portable shrines), Kimonoed Dancers, Traditional Musicians,
the 2004 Cherry Blossom Queen and her Court, and Marching Bands.
The Parade begins at the Civic Center at 1pm, proceeding up Polk
to Post Street, and ending in Japantown, at Post and Fillmore

Sail Pacific Sail Expo, Jack London Square, Oakland. Over
300 exhibitors and a fleet of over 100 sailboats, ranging from
affordable 8-foot dinghies to an 82-foot offshore luxury yacht
will be showcased, as well as over 80 Free Seminars on a wide
range of topics. Apr. 17-20 — Sea
Otter Classic, Laguna Seca, Monterey. Sea Otter Classic
is a four-day bicycle circus. Event features fun rides, road
racing, mountain bike racing, BMX, kids events, and expo. Racers

Anniversary of the Great San Francisco Earthquake & Fire — Lotta's
Fountain Annual Ceremony,
S.F. This year will mark the 102nd anniversary of the 1906
San Francisco earthquake and fire. Earthquake survivors gather
at
Lotta's Fountain in S.F. at 5:13am to mark the exact time of
the Great Earthquake. Apr. 18-20 — 26th

27 — Opening Day on the Bay 2008, San Francisco
Bay, S.F. “Opening Day on the Bay" marks
the official start of the San Francisco 2008 Boating Season.
The festive boat parade, including over 150 decorated boats,
sails from the Golden Gate Bridge
to
just
past Pier 39 at approximately 12 noon. Fun event to get together
with family or friends. Free admission. Weekend Tip: "Opening Day
on the Bay" is a FUN time to be in San Francisco — Apr. 27 — Opening Day
on the Bay aboard the Presidential Yacht "Potomac",
Jack London Square, Oakland.
Jump on board
the Presidential Yacht "Potomac" for a 3 hour
cruise on San Francisco Bay. Over 300 boats will participate
in this year's festival. $80 per person, includes a gourmet box
