We can't tell you how many times we passed by the Flying Fish
Grill on our way to the beach or Main Street in Half Moon Bay.
time we said the same thing — "we must try that place
sometime." Wish we hadn't waited so long!
It's a fun place
to stop for brunch, lunch, dinner (or drinks) after
working up an appetite walking along the beach.
Specialty Appetizers include the Crabby Cheese Bread — what could
be better than garlic cheese bread topped with fresh crab... yum!! It's
delicious and not too filling, so it doesn't spoil your appetite for the rest

Chowder is popular with locals and visitors alike. Incredible Fish Tacos...
Ditto the Fish & Chips.
We also recommend the seafood wrapps (big
and flavorful). The Pacific Wrapp is one of our favorites — grilled
salmon, avocado, ginger slaw, herb rice, scallions, sesame seeds and soy-wasabi
sauce in a spinach tortilla — it's pretty big, so go with an

Flying Fish Grill offers spacious indoor dining and a small outdoor area in a casual
setting. We prefer eating outside under the straw umbrella tables,
it's been a
full house — can't beat good food at reasonable prices :)

In 2011, after 20 years in its previous location, the tiny eatery moved up the road to a much larger location — the Flying Fish Bar & Grill is now located at 211 San Mateo Road (@ Hwy 90), one block east of Main Street.
