Terra ****

Cuisine: French with Japanese influences
Description & Atmosphere
This historic stone building, with beautiful arched windows, is
located in the heart of St. Helena. Terra has two elegant dining
rooms, featuring wood-beamed ceilings, stone walls and impressive
wall-to-ceiling wine racks. Quiet, romantic atmosphere, albeit a
little stuffy. This is an excellent choice for celebrating a special
occasion.
Food
Chef Hiro Sone's innovative food is French with Japanese influences,
using fresh, local ingredients from Napa Valley. Excellent appetizers
include the Lobster Tortelloni with English peas and oyster mushroom
in Tarragon lobster sauce and a delicious Home-Smoked Salmon "Carpaccio"
with Potato Latkes, capers and American sturgeon caviar.
The entrees are equally amazing Broiled Sake-marinated Chilean
Seabass and Shrimp Dumplings in Shiso Broth and the Grilled Filet
of Pacific Salmon with Thai red curry sauce and Basmati rice. Impressive
wine selection.
