Although Napa Valley is world-famous for its premium wineries and gourmet restaurants, there are many "other" Fun Things To Do when visiting the area. We've put together a list and a brief description of some of our Favorite Things To Do (in no particular order).

1. Hot-Air Ballooning... and more!
Hot-Air Balloon Rides
A Hot-Air Balloon Ride over Napa Valley Wine Country is a truly memorable experience. Get a bird's eye view of the vineyards as you soar high above the trees — great for picture-taking! Reservations are required.

NOTE: If there is any wind or fog, the launch might be cancelled.

Other fun aerial adventure activities include Glider Rides, Bi-Plane Rides and Helicopter Flights.

4. Napa Valley Wine Train (Napa)
Napa Valley Wine Train
Travel through 36 miles of the scenic Napa Valley and enjoy a leisurely three-hour excursion aboard the elegant Napa Valley Wine Train.

During each trip, there are two meal seatings — one going north to St. Helena, the other on the return trip back to Napa. We prefer to dine during the first seating and then relax in the lounge cars on the return journey.

Daylight trips are preferable if you want to see the vineyards — sunset views are stunning. At night, there's not much to see outside, but it's still a great dining experience.

5. Historical Walking Tour
Yountville Historical Walking Tour
Take a self-guided tour of Yountville — one of Napa Valley's most scenic, historic and charming towns. Stop by the Yountville Chamber of Commerce (located on Washington and Oak, directly opposite the Villagio Inn & Spa) to pick up your "Historical Walking Tour & Pathway Map" brochure.

6. Tasting Rooms
Yountville Tasting Rooms
Enjoy sampling premium wines at any of Yountville's charming Tasting Rooms — there are 12 of them (all located within easy walking distance to each other). Cheers!

7. Napa Valley Museum
Napa Valley Museum
Visit Napa Valley Museum (located on the grounds of the Veterans Home in Yountville)— it features changing art exhibitions and permanent history collections. The new History Gallery showcases the "Land and People of the Napa Valley" exhibit and features rare artifacts on display for the first time in 25 years.

Open 10am-5pm.
Closed Tuesdays and major holidays.

8. Napa Valley Shopping
Enjoy shopping at Napa Valley's Premium Outlets, the historic V Marketplace 1870 (in Yountville) and downtown St. Helena (Main Street is lined with quaint little shops, boutiques and restaurants).

Visit the quaint town of Calistoga — famous for its soothing and rejuvenating Hot Springs, Spas and Mud Baths, fun restaurants, specialty shops and fine art galleries.
