Description & Atmosphere
You may be familiar with Izzy's in San Francisco's Marina District and Corte Madera — now you can enjoy the same delicious steaks and chops here on the peninsula. Izzy's is located just off Redwood Shores Parkway, alongside the San Carlos Airport runway. (It was previously home to the Habana Yacht Club and Houlihan's before that.)

Named after a legendary San Francisco saloon keeper, Izzy Gomez, it was on his birthday — February 9, 1987 — that the San Francisco restaurant first opened.

Izzy's spacious restaurant features four dining areas that seat up to 200. It has a casual, clubby, dark pub-like atmosphere.

The large rectangular-shaped bar is a great place to stop by for a drink. Come early on Friday and Saturday nights — the place is packed. Say hi to bartender Stephen...and General Manager Robert (photo below).

Food
Izzy's is famous for its fabulous selection of steaks — their house specialty is the New York Strip Steak (aged 21 days). Delicious Filet Mignon, Rack of Lamb, BBQ Ribs and Double Thick Pork Chops.

The Crab Cake appetizer is excellent, although expensive for what you get. Good Chopped Caesar Salad (topped with beets).

Don't worry if you're not a beef-lover...the menu also features seafood specialties and a selection of lighter choices, including salads, hamburger and chicken dishes.

Entrees include two sides — our favorites are the Creamed Spinach and Izzy's Own Potatoes (Au Gratin Potatoes). Other choices include Baked Potato with all the trimmings, Roasted Garlic Whipped Potatoes, Shoe-String Potatoes, Corn Pudding, Roasted Carrots & Onions, Steamed Broccoli, and Steamed Asparagus.

If you're not too full for dessert, Izzy's offers a yummy selection.
