Sushi Sam's Edomata

218 E. 3rd Avenue
(bet. Ellsworth Ave & B Street)
San Mateo
650-344-0888
Cuisine: Japanese/ Sushi
Description & Atmosphere
Sushi Sam's is one of our favorite sushi restaurants on the Peninsula.
And judging from the large lunch and dinner crowds, we're not
the only ones who feel
this
way.
The sushi is extremely fresh
and much larger than we're
used
to — it
reminds us a little bit of Monster
Sushi in New York.

Sushi Sam's is
very casual, but what it lacks in ambience, it more than makes
up for in food and service.
Food
Japanese Sushi Plates (a la carte) and Assorted Sushi will
keep you coming back for more. Everything is good here, especially
the Unagi Hand Rolls, Maguro Tuna, California Rolls (photo
above), Unagi Sushi, Rainbow Rolls, and their
monster Spider
Rolls (deep-fried Soft Shell Crab, lettuce & avocado — photo
below).

Daily Lunch Specials and Combo Lunch Boxes are good value, especially
the Combo Salmon Terriyaki, Miso Soup, California Rolls, Steamed
Rice and Vegetable Tempura (photo below).
Dinner Menu entrees and Combo Dinners include Salad, Soup,
and Rice. Beer, Wine and Japanese Sake are available.
