Description & Atmosphere
One phrase you won't be
uttering
when you dine at this trendy neighborhood restaurant
is "Where's
the Beef?"
Town (which opened in March 2006) is located
in the Tivoli
Building on Laurel Street in San Carlos, formerly
the site of
A Tavola* restaurant.

The casual, yet elegantly-styled dining
room features cozy leather booth seating in a dark, clubby
atmosphere. Noise levels
can be high, so don't come here
for quiet intimate conversation.
Food
Town's impressive menu offers
Dry Aged Steaks & Chops, Hand-Cut Filet Mignon and Prime
Rib, Premium Fresh Seafood, Wood-Fired Grill
and Rotisserie Chicken & Ribs, House Specialties, and
Local Organic
Produce.
The Fresh Lump Dungeness Crab Poppers, with
Tonyaki Sauce and Cucumber-Tomato Salad (photo above) is
absolutely sensational. The uncut leaf Caesar Salad is excellent as well.

House Specialties
One of the House Specialities, the Terriyaki Skirt Steak (photo
above) is extraordinary — tender
and flavorful. Tony's marinated Skirt Steak sits atop Garlic
Mashed Potatoes topped with Crispy Onion Strings,
surrounded by Green Beans.

Town Signature Cut
24oz Porterhouse Steak
Come with an appetite if you're ordering the 24 ounce Porterhouse
Steak (photo above) — it comes with your choice of two
sides.
We like the Creamed Spinach and
Red-Wine Braised
Mushrooms.
Lighter, casual menu items include:
Prime Rib Dip Sandwich with Homemade Cole Slaw or
French Fries; Town Burger with all the trimmings,
and Warm Napa Cabbage Burger, with
Napa Cabbage, Bleu Cheese, Bacon and Mushrooms.

Yummy Desserts include: Hot Fudge Sundae (see photos
above
and right), Banana
Cream Pie, Warm Bread Pudding, and Warm Chocolate
Lava Cake.

Al Fresco Dining
Adding to the allure of Town is its "al fresco" patio seating out
front —
glass
windows open to the large sidewalk overlooking
Laurel
Street.
With everyone coming and going, the area
makes
for
great
people-watching. Overhead
heaters
run
the length
of the covered patio to keep
you
warm
on
chilly
nights.

 Bar
"High energy" best describes
Town's popular large U-shaped bar,
which also features overhead flat
screen
TVs — it's
a fun place to enjoy a variety of specialty cocktails, watch sports,
and people-watch.

Counter Seating
Don't feel like waiting for a table? Town features comfortable
counter seating, overlooking its busy open kitchen that runs
along one side of the restaurant.

West Coast Wines
Town's wine list features an extensive selection of California, Washington and
Oregon wines.
