Description & Atmosphere
One phrase you won't be uttering when you dine at this trendy neighborhood restaurant is "Where's the Beef?" Since Town first opened (in March 2006 in the Tivoli Building on Laurel Street), it's been one of the most popular restaurants in San Carlos.

The casual, yet elegantly-styled dining room features cozy leather booth seating in a dark, clubby atmosphere. Noise levels can be high, so don't come here for quiet intimate conversation. Note: Dining outside is a great option if you want a quieter atmosphere — we actually prefer it!

Town's impressive menu offers
Dry Aged Steaks & Chops, Hand-Cut Filet Mignon and Prime Rib, Premium Fresh Seafood, Wood-Fired Grill and Rotisserie Chicken & Ribs, House Specialties, and
Local Organic Produce.

Terriyak Skirt Steak - extraordinary! House Specialty at Town restaurant, San Carlos, California

House Specialties
One of the House Specialities, the Terriyaki Skirt Steak (photo above) is extraordinary — tender and flavorful.

Tony's marinated Skirt Steak sits atop Garlic Mashed Potatoes topped with Crispy Onion Strings, surrounded by Green Beans. During one visit, we opted for a Baked Potato (and all the toppings) instead of the mashed — equally good and it's so big, you can split it between the two of you.

24 oz Porterhouse Steak at Town restaurant, San Carlos, California

Town Signature Cut
24oz Porterhouse Steak

Come with an appetite if you're ordering the 24 ounce Porterhouse Steak (pictured above) — it comes with your choice of two sides. We like the Creamed Spinach and Red-Wine Braised Mushrooms.

Giant Pork Chop at Town in San Carlos - delicious!

The giant Pork Chop (pictured above) is also delicious — the hearty portion size reminded Barry of the pork chops in New York!

Lighter, casual menu items include:
Prime Rib Dip Sandwich with Homemade Cole Slaw or French Fries; Town Burger with all the trimmings, and Warm Napa Cabbage Burger, with Napa Cabbage, Bleu Cheese, Bacon and Mushrooms.

Fresh Lump Dungeness Crab Poppers - delicious! Appetizer at Town restaurant, San Carlos

The Fresh Lump Dungeness Crab Poppers, with Tonyaki Sauce and Cucumber-Tomato Salad (photo above) is absolutely sensational. The uncut leaf Caesar Salad is excellent as well.

Al Fresco Dining at Town, San Carlos, California

Al Fresco Dining at Town, San Carlos, California

Al Fresco Dining
Adding to the allure of Town is its "al fresco" patio seating out front — glass windows open to the large sidewalk overlooking Laurel Street. With everyone coming and going, the area makes for great people-watching. Overhead heaters run the length of the covered patio to keep you warm on chilly nights. It's also quieter than dining inside. During a recent dinner on a warm clear night, we looked up to see a full moon... very romantic.

"High energy" best describes
Town's popular large U-shaped bar, which also features overhead flat screen TVs — it's a fun place to enjoy a variety of specialty cocktails, watch sports, and people-watch.
