Description & Atmosphere
Hunan Home's Restaurant is located in the heart of Chinatown — tucked away on Jackson Street, just off Grant Avenue. Usually, it's crowded with locals and tourists alike — the place is definitely worth a stop for its fabulous Chinese food.

The restaurant is casual and comfortable. A colorful fish tank stands just inside the front entrance (top photo). One side of the narrow dining room features a long wall mirror and booth seating. Pink linens top the tables. Several large round tables, in the middle of the room, are ideal for team lunches and dinners.

Food
Hunan's food really shines and portions are generous too. The Seafood entrées are so fresh — we really like their Double Mushrooms, Prawns & Scallops.

Varied menu selection includes a variety of Sizzling Plates. Delicious Vegetable dishes (Vegetarian on request) include two standouts in particular — Eggplant with Spicy Garlic Sauce and String Bean a la Hunan. Ask your waiter for degree of spicy; Mild Spicy was Hot enough for us.

If you feel like getting a little exercise, you can park in the Stockton-Sutter Garage, in Union Square, and walk down Grant Avenue. The restaurant is also close to North Beach, so parking there is another option.
