Ton Kiang came highly recommended to us by several friends during a conversation about food and "favorite San Francisco restaurants" — besides travel, it's our favorite topic!

After several visits to this "gem
on Geary" we now know what the locals know — this casual neighborhood restaurant offers some of the best (and freshest) Dim Sim in the city.

The split-level restaurant features a long narrow dining room decorated with Chinese artwork — a large painting of Guilin's mountains and Li River hangs proudly on the wall.

Ton Kiang offers diners a wide variety of classic Chinese dishes
as well as Hakka specialties.

Dim Sum is served daily til 5pm; after 5pm you can order Dim Sum off the menu.

Upstairs Dining Area
The more spacious dining room upstairs can be divided into two areas — it has sliding rice-screen doors. Light and airy, it features a large curved picture window overlooking Geary Blvd.

Several large tables can accommodate larger parties — ideal if you're celebrating a special occasion or entertaining a group of clients or out-of-town guests.

Decorative Chinese lanterns hang from the ceiling and a long scrolled Chinese landscape painting fills one wall. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere as Chinese music plays softly in the background.
