Ferry Building

Ferry Building
Built in 1898, the historic Ferry Building survived
San Francisco's great quake of 1906 and the Loma Prieta quake of
1989. The Ferry Building is located along the Embarcadero, at
the foot of Market Street.
Google Map of the Ferry Building
Today, the
area is bustling with locals and tourists alike — people
come here to see the Ferry Building and it's famous Clock Tower,
for Ferry Service to and from the East Bay and North Bay, to visit
the Marketplace Shops & Restaurants, and
to browse the Farmers Markets. The outdoor plaza area, overlooking
SF Bay, is also a popular venue for ongoing city events.
Ferry
Building Clock Tower
During the day, the Ferry Building's famous clock tower chimes
on the hour and half-hour.
Ferry Service
The Ferry Building is one of the city's central areas for
Ferry Service (to and from the East Bay and North Bay):
East Bay Ferries
(Alameda & Oakland)
Golden Gate Ferries
(Sausalito & Larkspur)
Marketplace Shops & Restaurants
The Ferry
Building Marketplace is located within the historic
Ferry Building — the spacious indoor area has
a variety of fun cafes, restaurants and specialty shops. It's
a great place to hang-out
and relax, meet friends,
shop and people-watch. Free Cooking Demos are also offered to
the public.
Ferry Plaza Farmers Market
The Marketplace is especially fun on Saturdays when the Farmers
Market is in full swing — the year-round market is
one of the best places in the city to shop for organic produce
and artisan
specialties...
not
to mention all the outdoor international food vendors where you can
enjoy a delicious breakfast or lunch on-the-go.
