Every June, for the last 30+ years, a special one-day Haight-Ashbury Street Fair takes place on Haight Street (at the corner of Haight and Stanyan Streets, between Stanyan Street & Masonic Avenue).
The fair is "dedicated to celebrating the cultural, history and diversity of one of San Francisco's most internationally celebrated neighborhoods — The Haight-Ashbury District."
The first ever Haight-Ashbury Street Fair was held on April 30, 1978. Today, it is more popular than ever... with tourists and locals alike.
Relive your hippie days and the "Summer of Love" at one of San Francisco's most infamous neighborhoods. Wisk back to the 1960s and enjoy the tie-died clothes, Rock music, jewelry, food, specialty shops, and people-watching.
The Haight-Ashbury Street Fair has a very different feel than all of the other San Francisco summer street fairs — and the vendor booths and shops are also very different... and fun!
Enjoy arts & crafts, food and wine, live entertainment — and "The Children's Alley"... perfect for kids.
