Contemporary Jewish Museum

Designed by internationally renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, San Francisco's Contemporary Jewish Museum opened its doors on June 8, 2008.

The museum explores contemporary perspectives on Jewish culture, history, art and ideas.



The new San Francisco cultural landmark is conveniently located in downtown San Francisco, near the Moscone Convention Center, upscale hotels and city attractions.

Cafe & Museum Store

— Cafe on the Square
The museum's Cafe on the Square is located on the East end of the Grand Lobby. Enjoy casual fare — soups, salads, sandwiches and Jewish favorites. Indoor and outdoor seating — dine al fresco overlooking Jessie Square and Yerba Buena Gardens (weather permitting). Kosher Beer & Wine.

Shop for unique gift items at the Museum Store, located on the building's main level. The store can also be accessed through the Museum's Grand Lobby or directly off Yerba Buena Lane.

Stephen and Maribelle Leavitt "Yud" Gallery
The spacious gallery (pictured above) features a 60-foot ceiling and 36 skylights — it's a stunning setting for Cocktail Receptions, Dinners, Corporate Parties, or Special Events.

Koret-Taube Grand Lobby
Elegant and roomy, the Grand Lobby space is ideal for Cocktail Receptions and Dinners.

Richard and Rhoda Goldman Hall
This versatile room (pictured above) can be used for a variety of events, including theatrical performances, lectures, or as an open space for Corporate Events, Dinners and Cocktail Receptions.

Sala Webb Education
Center
The area includes two classrooms and an open lobby area. These spaces can be used for Artistic or Educational Events, Receptions, Conferences, or Private Meetings.
