San Francisco's Fourth of July Waterfront Festival features Arts & Crafts, Live Entertainment, Food and FUN — at The Cannery’s Del Monte Courtyard. Festivities at the Cannery begins at 11 am at the Courtyard Stage with Face Painting 11am-3pm. Live Musical Entertainment will run thru' 8pm.

Party at Pier 39 with "Big Bang Beat" taking the stage from 1-4pm, followed by "Tainted Love" from 6-9:30pm. Spectacular Fireworks extravaganza, launched from barges off Pier 39 and the Municipal Pier, begins at approximately 9:30pm. Fireworks can be seen from Aquatic Park and mid-bay near Alcatraz, between Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf.

July 4th Fireworks Cruises — Red and White Fleet
Cruise along the S.F. Waterfront and see San Francisco's amazing fireworks display from the middle of the bay, aboard the Red and White Ferry. There are 4 Sailings — Two departures at 7:45pm and two at 8:15pm. Boarding takes place 15 minutes prior to departure from Pier 43 1/2 at Fisherman’s Wharf and will return at approximately 10:30pm. Snacks and beverages will be available on-board for purchase. Tickets available online.

Make summer in New York City extra special with a festive 4th of July Cruise. Enjoy a close-up view of Lady Liberty and see the awesome fireworks light up the night sky as you create your own sparks dancing to a dynamite DJ. Food and drink available onboard for purchase. Tour departs from the Hudson River in midtown Manhattan. Boarding 4:30pm. Cruise 5:30pm.

Nathan's July Fourth International Hot Dog Eating Contest
Nathan's on Coney Island. Come and cheer on contestants as they compete to eat the
most hot dogs. World Champion Joey Chestnut (from San Jose, California) defends his title against Takeru Kobayashi (of Nagano, Japan) and top eaters from around the world.

Last year (2008), Joey Chestnut beat Takeru Kobayashi in a five-dog overtime, after both ate 59 Nathan's Famous hot dogs and buns in the 10-minute regulation match. Chestnut finished his plate in 50 seconds, seven seconds before Kobayashi.

In 2007, Joey Chestnut wolfed down a record 66 Nathan's Famous hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes to unseat six-time champ Takeru Kobayashi.

Hot Dog Eating Contest starts at 12 noon. Arrive early (by 11am) for the best viewing. If you can't be there in person, you can watch the event on TV. Go Joey!

Santa Barbara's annual Independence Day Celebration, includes a 4th of July Parade down State Street, Arts & Crafts along Cabrillo Blvd, live entertainment and food at the Waterfront, a performance by the Santa Barbara Symphony at the Courthouse — and a Fireworks Show off West Beach.

Washington, D.C. Independence Day Celebration
Join in the Fun and celebrate the Nation's Birthday in the Nation's Capital — watch the Fireworks from the National Mall or over the water on the Potomac.

— America's National Independence Day Parade & Concert
Washington, D.C.'s Independence Day Parade features Marching Bands, Military and Specialty Units, Floats and VIPs. The parade starts at 11:45 am at Constitution Avenue and 7th Street NW.

After the Parade, visit the U.S. Capitol’s West Lawn for a "A Capitol Fourth" — a  Free, 90-minute live musical extravaganza. Hosted by Jimmy Smits, the Concert’s headliners include Huey Lewis & The News, Taylor Hicks, Jerry Lee Lewis, Hayley Westenra, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Harolyn Blackwell and the National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Erich Kunzel.

The spectacular 30-minute Fireworks Show begins at approximately 9:20 pm over the Washington Monument grounds.
