California High Speed Rail

A new High Speed Rail System is being constructed from San Francisco and Scramento to LA and San Diego.
The trains would travel at speeds up to 220 mph. A trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles will take two and a half hours.
Funding was approved in 2008. The first stage
of construction is projected to begin in 2010
The system is forecast to carry over 100 million passengers per year by 2030
