A Private Service for Michael Jackson was held at Forest Lawn on July 7, 2009, followed by a public televised Memorial Service at L.A.'s Staples Center. The Memorial Service was attended by thousands of fans — and watched by more than one billion people from around the world.

September 3, 2009

A Private Funeral Service was held on Thursday, September 3, 2009. Michael Jackson was finally laid to rest inside a mausoleum at Forest Lawn (Glendale location). He was placed inside a gold casket, wearing a special wig with shoulder-length hair and make-up (like he was about to perform). Private notes written by his three children were placed inside the casket, next to Michael's famous white glove.
