Hoover Dam
Hoover Dam is Southern Nevada's most famous visitor attraction, drawing more than 700,000 visitors a year. The least busy months to visit are January and February.

The dam is located only 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas on the Arizona-Nevada border. Did you know that there is enough concrete in the dam to build a two-lane highway from San Francisco to New York?

Since the opening of the new bridge (see Hoover Dam Bypass info below), visitors can still take the historic drive across the top of the dam, but only from the Nevada side.

Hoover Dam Bypass
The Hoover Dam Bypass (officially named the Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge), opened to traffic in October 2010. Like the Hoover Dam, the 1,900-foot long concrete span is an impressive sight.

Spectacular views of this engineering masterpiece can be seen from turnouts along the original Hwy 93 — and the bridge itself offers panoramic views.
