Enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch in Central Park, overlooking Turtle Pond and the Great Lawn — the views look like something out of a movie set.

During the summer — May thru' Labor Day — the Central Park Conservancy hosts a number of Free Concerts and musical events.

Some of the city's biggest outdoor events, including concerts by Elton John, Diana Ross, Simon and Garfunkel, and Luciano Pavarotti have taken place at the Great Lawn (photo above).

At the northeast corner, there are four half-courts for basketball and two volleyball courts, and an 1/8 mile track surrounding the courts.
