The Presidential swearing-in ceremony takes place on the West Front of the State Capitol in Washington DC.

Inauguration Tickets

The 111th Congress is responsible for distributing tickets to the events.

Tickets for the swearing-in ceremony are free but only available through the president-elect, the vice-president elect and members of Congress.

Contact your Senator's or Congressman's Office for Inauguration Ticket Information.

Tickets will not be distributed to the office of members of Congress until the week before the inauguration.

Inauguration Day Weather
Be prepared for cold weather during the Presidential Inauguration. Since 1993, temperatures on January 20th in Washington DC have averaged a low of 27 to a high of 39. Of course, weather can be unpredictable — you might want to wear layers just to be safe.
