Blue Lagoon Island Beaches
REOPENED — June 30, 2008

After being closed for over two years due to "Hurricane
Frances" damage, Blue
Lagoon Island Beaches reopened at the end of June 2008.
NOTE: This was
confirmed to us via phone conversations in July 2008
with the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce in Nassau.
Tropical Paradise
Bask in the sun, go swimming and relax on one of Blue Lagoon's
seven beautiful white sandy beaches. The island is a popular
stop for cruise ship passengers, so be prepared for parts of
the island to be more crowded than others, especially the beach
closest to where the ferries dock.
Swim with the Dolphins
Blue Lagoon Island is also home to Dolphin
Encounters — enjoy "Swimming with the Dolphins" during
your next trip.

Getting to Blue Lagoon Island Beaches
Boats depart from Paradise Island Ferry
Terminal — the building between
the two bridges on Paradise Island — to Blue Lagoon Island several times
a day.
Paradise Island is about a mile from the
center of downtown Nassau
- a short taxi ride.
Scenic boat trips offering views of Nassau
Harbor and surrounding islands are available to and from Blue Lagoon
Island.
We recommend that you arrive 30 minutes before
your boat departure time and check in at the ticket booth. Get
a "Day Pass" if
you just want to hang out at the Beach for a day.
Blue
Lagoon Island Snack Shop
The snack shop offers a selection of sandwiches, salads, and beverages.
Blue Lagoon Island Gift Store
Buy t-shirts, jewelry and other Blue Lagoon Island souvenirs
at the island's gift store.
