Two miles up Hwy 1 is the mouth
to Carmel Valley — famous for its scenic rolling hills and
growing
wine industry. Enjoy fun outdoor recreational activities such
as golfing, hiking and horseback-riding.
Carmel Valley is approximately 120 miles south of San Francisco
and approximately 20 minutes from Monterey Peninsula Airport
and
1-1/2 hours from the San Jose Airport. It's a fun place to visit if you're staying in downtown Carmel
or Monterey.

South of Carmel
Shopping
The Barnyard
The
Barnyard sits along Hwy 1,
just south of the Carmel Valley turnoff. Open daily
10am-6pm
Its setting is similar to that
of San Francisco's Ghirardelli Square and The Cannery. The shopping
village features over 50 shops, galleries and restaurants, surrounded
by
lush gardens.
Crossroads Shopping Center
Located approximately 10-20 minutes from
downtown Carmel,
this fun little shopping area is filled with restaurants,
coffee shops, specialy stores and boutiques.
Take Hwy 1 to Rio Road and turn
right into Crossroads Shopping Center, just off Crossroads Blvd.
