Buca di Beppo ***
643 Emerson Street
Description & Atmosphere
Beppo's has three cozy dining rooms on the first floor and
several rooms upstairs. Each room offers a great party atmosphere
Sinatra fans will love the music. The walls are jam-packed
with framed photographs, some of
which are hilarious.
The food is good, although not as outrageous as it once was — and during a recent visit, we noticed a decrease in portion size. One of our favorite entrees
is the Spaghetti & Meatballs — and one of our favorite salads is Beppo's Apple Gorgonzola Salad— tart Granny Smith Apples, spiced walnuts, dried cranberrries and Gorgonzola cheese, fresh lettuces, seasoned with Beppo's signature Italian vinaigrette.
During past visits with friends, we enjoyed
a fabulous Fried
Calamari appetizer, Caesar
Salad, Chicken Canneloni (stuffed with chicken
sausage, provolone, ricotta, and fresh sage, smothered with romano
and marinara), and the Linguine
Frutti di Mare with shrimp, mussels, clams, and calamari — a
seafood lovers delight!
Pepperoni & Mushroom Pizzas come with a wonderful thin crispy crust. The rectangular-shaped pizzas are very good
Each visit we like to try something different — Chicken
Cacciatore over Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Chicken Marsala with fresh
mushrooms, Veal Parmigiana with prosciutto, Lasagna, Tiramisu (rum
and espresso soaked ladyfingers layered with custard, topped with
cocoa and biscotti with almonds)... you
get the idea.
