Angel Island
Angel Island — a 740-acre State Park— is the largest island in San Francisco Bay. Home to historical sights, scenic coves, miles of biking and hiking trails, tram and Segway tours, and breathtaking views of San Francisco Bay, SF skyline, Marin County, Mount Tamalpais, and the Golden Gate Bridge — it's a must-see destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

Angel Island Tram Tours
Enjoy a Picnic Lunch on Angel Island, followed by an informative and educational one-hour Tram Tour. Visit historical sights and see spectacular views of San Francisco Bay, the city skyline, Sausalito, Tiburon and the Golden Gate Bridge aboard an open-air tram. Tours are available to individuals and groups.

Hiking Trails
Explore Angel Island by foot on one of their many scenic Hiking Trails (offered at a variety of skill levels). Wear layers — it can get chilly, especially during summer months when the fog rolls into the Bay.

Note: No dogs except for service dogs are allowed on Angel Island.

Mountain Biking
Rent a mountain bike and enjoy spectacular views from 8 miles of traffic-free biking paths. Fun stopping points along the way include:

  • Ayala Cove to Perimeter Trail
  • Perimeter Trail to West Garrison/Camp Reynolds
  • West Garrison to Battery Ledyard/Perles Beach
  • Batty Ledyard to bench overlook
  • Bench overlook to East Garrison
  • East Garrison to North Garrison
  • North Garrison back to Ayala Cove

The Cove Cafe
at Ayala Cove

The Cove Cafe at Angel Island's Ayala Cove is the starting and ending point for a bike ride around the island — you can rent bicycles here (available on a first-come, first-serve basis) or ride your own. It's a fun place to relax before and after your ride and enjoy the magnificent SF Bay views.

In October 2008, a massive brush-fire burned more than half of the state park over two days, closing the island for the rest of that year. Today, the island is more popular than ever — with tourists and locals alike!

Guided Kayak Trip
You can also go camping or take a Guided Kayak Trip around the island.

Segway Tours
Ride a Segway around Angel Island — weather permitting.

Angel Island Beaches
Walk along one of the island's beautiful secluded beaches.

Ferry to Angel Island
Hop aboard a ferry and enjoy cruising across the Bay to Angel Island. Ferries leave from Tiburon, San Francisco and Alameda/Oakland.

Red & White or
Blue & Gold Fleet Ferries

Fun Off-Site Event Location
Angel Island is a fun place for an Motivational Team-Building Event or Company Picnic — there are several reservable Group Picnic Sites and catering services on the island.
