Marina Green

Marina Green
Located by Fort Mason, the Marina Green overlooks
the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Angel
Island and San Francisco
Bay.

This large grassy area is surrounded by a jogging track and features
a walking path overlooking the bay. It's a popular destination
with tourists and locals alike.
People come here to picnic with
their families, fly their kites, walk their dogs, exercise, jog,
bicycle...you get the idea. One end of the Marina Green (near
Crissy Field and Crissy
Field Beach) features
a grassy volleyball area. This is also a popular hangout for sunbathers
and people-watchers.

The Marina Green is also one of the best viewing areas to see
the U.S. Navy Blue Angels over San Francisco Bay during the
annual Fleet Week Celebrations.

Yacht Clubs in Marina Green

Picnic
at Marina Green
Stop by Safeway (located across the street) and pick
up a picnic lunch. There's
also a little cafe booth "Cavern on the Green," located
at the far end of the Marina Green, by Crissy Field (photo below).
NOTE: Picnic tables for larger groups are located
at Crissy
Field — picnic permits are required for groups of 50+.

Amazing Views
Take a long leisurely walk along the
Marina Green to Crissy Field, Crissy
Field Beach and Fort Point. In our
opinion, there is NO better view in the world.
