MH de Young Museum

The MH de Young Museum — the fourth most visited museum in the U.S. — is located in the heart of San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The museum's architecture is quite unique — and the interior spaces are even more stunning.

The state-of-the-art museum houses priceless collections of American art and art of the Native Americas, Africa, and the Pacific. Amazing sculptures and unique works of art are visible both inside and outside the museum.

Tower Observation Floor
During your visit to the de Young Museum, be sure to take the elevator up to the 9th floor — the panoramic views from the top of the Tower Observation Floor are incredible.

"Friday Nights at the de Young"
Mid-January thru' Thanksgiving
5:00-8:45pm
Looking for something different to do on a Friday night with your family and friends? "Friday Nights at the de Young"features a mix of live music, poetry, films, dance, art-making demos, lectures, docent tours, and interactive kids activities — enjoy cocktails, people-watching... and more! The entire museum is open until 8:45pm.

Tues-Sun 9:30am-5:15pm
Fri (mid Jan thru' Nov only) open til 8:45pm.

First Tuesday of each month Free. Special exhibition fees still apply.

Closed January 1, July 4,
Thanksgiving Day, and December 25.

de Young Store
Shop for jewelry, books, cards, posters, fun souvenirs...and more. The de Young Store is located on two levels of the building — visitors can enter from the lower Exhibition Level or the main Concourse Level of the museum.
Open Tues-Sun 9:30-5pm.

Concourse Parking
Parking (for cars and bicycles) is available in the Concourse parking facility. Access to the north entrance is from Fulton St. @ 10th Ave. Access to the south entrance is at Concourse Dr. and Martin Luther King Dr. inside the park.

Open daily, year-round.

Limited parking is available on John F. Kennedy Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
