Nathan's July Fourth International Hot Dog Eating Contest
Nathan's on Coney Island. Come and cheer on contestants as they compete to eat the
most hot dogs. World Champion Joey Chestnut (from San Jose, California) defends his title against Takeru Kobayashi (of Nagano, Japan) and top eaters from around the world.

Last year (2008), Joey Chestnut beat Takeru Kobayashi in a five-dog overtime, after both ate 59 Nathan's Famous hot dogs and buns in the 10-minute regulation match. Chestnut finished his plate in 50 seconds, seven seconds before Kobayashi.

In 2007, Joey Chestnut wolfed down a record 66 Nathan's Famous hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes to unseat six-time champ Takeru Kobayashi.

Hot Dog Eating Contest starts at 12 noon. Arrive early (by 11am) for the best viewing. If you can't be there in person, you can watch the event on TV. Go Joey!
