Historical Displays inside Lake Tahoe Museum

See early photographs and displays of Tahoe's history — from Native American occupation through its 19th century development to the present time.

Pony Express exhibit inside Lake Tahoe Exhibit

The museum contains an interesting collection of Tahoe's historical artifacts — everything from Washoe Indian baskets, tools and arrowheads, to a model of the historic S.S. Tahoe steamship.

Log Cabin behind Lake Tahoe Museum

Log Cabin
The old Log Cabin (photo above) was built in 1931. It is located directly behind the museum. Although you can't go inside the cabin, you can peak through the windows and see the furnishings inside.

Osgood's Toll House
Built in 1859, this is Lake Tahoe's oldest standing building. It is located next to the Log Cabin, behind the museum. The photo above shows the Toll House in the background, behind the Log Cabin.
