South Lake Tahoe Historical Society & Museum
If you're a history buff, you'll
enjoy a visit to South Lake Tahoe Historical Society & Museum.

See early photographs and displays of Tahoe's history — from
Native American occupation through its 19th century development to
the present time.

The museum contains an interesting collection of Tahoe's historical
artifacts — everything from Washoe Indian baskets, tools and
arrowheads, to a model of the historic S.S. Tahoe steamship.

Take a seat and relax while watching video clips of "old"
Lake Tahoe (see photo below).

Historical books and other Tahoe memorabilia can be purchased at
the museum.

fashions have changed over the years!

Museum Hours
Summer: Open daily 11am-4pm
Winter: Open weekends 12-4pm

Log Cabin
The old Log Cabin (photo above) was built
in 1931. It is located directly behind the museum. Although you
can't go inside the cabin, you can peak through the windows and
see the furnishings inside.

Osgood's Toll House
Built in 1859, this is Lake Tahoe's oldest standing building. It is located
next to the Log Cabin, behind the museum. The photo above shows the
Toll House in the background, behind the Log Cabin.
