Santa Barbara Attractions
Santa Barbara Zoo
Santa Barbara Zoo is located in the heart of downtown Santa
Barbara, just minutes from the Waterfront. It's the
first zoo we've ever visited that
has the Pacific Ocean and mountains as a backdrop — what
a great home for the animals!
Although quite small and compact compared to most,
the Santa Barbara Zoo is rated as one of the best small zoos in
the nation.
than
500 animals
in their natural
habitats, including African Lions, Asian Elephants, Giraffes, Leopards,
Lemurs, Monkeys — and all your favorites. Attractions
include the Zoo Train, Barnyard, Carousel, Giraffe and Lorikeet
Feedings... fun for kids and adults alike!

Zoo
Exhibits
Visit the Santa Barbara Zoo's web site for more info on current, ongoing
and upcoming major exhibits.
We like the elegant Chilean Flamingos and the cute Humboldt Penguins (found
along the Pacific coast of South America from Peru to Chile).

Asian Elephants
Head over to the Elephant overlook and check
out the zoo's two female Asian Elephants — Sujatha and Little
Mac.

Fun Event Location
The Santa Barbara Zoo is a FUN place to host a Corporate
Event or Private Party. Enjoy strolling through the
zoo at your leisure. Set up private
Giraffe
Feedings and ride the Wine Train. Enjoy catered events
and live entertainment — make it an event to be remembered.
We attended a private event here and it was a blast!
The Zoo also offers special Birthday Party packages
for children aged 2-12.
Contact the Santa Barbara Zoo for more info on
hosting a Corporate Event or Private Party.

No...
this isn't a picture of a scary monster, it's a Giraffe's tongue — you
won't believe how long it is!

Giraffe
Feedings
Feeding the Giraffe was the highlight of our zoo visit.
Get up close to the Giraffes as they sweep
their treats right out of your hand with their long tongues — it's
one of those unique animal experiences that you gotta try
at least once :)

Note: Feeding schedule is flexible based on the
giraffes' behavior and cannot be guaranteed. Check at the admissions
gate for
feeding times upon arrival at the zoo.
Wine Train
Ride the little Wine Train along the perimeters of the zoo. It's a short ride — and
depending on the time of day, you can see some of the animals along the way.
