The ultramodern Las Vegas Monorail
is one of the most technologically advanced public transportation
systems
in the
world. It provides locals and visitors a convenient way
to travel between Las Vegas hotels,
the Convention Center and city attractions. And the views at night
are spectacular.
Route
MGM Grand to the Sahara
Reaching speeds of
up to 50 miles per hour, the Monorail runs on a single rail
approximately 20 feet above ground along the east side
of the famous Las
Vegas
Strip. It links seven stations over four miles to eight major
Las Vegas resorts and nine
convention facilities, including the Las Vegas Convention
Center, the largest single-level facility of its kind in the world.
The four-mile route takes only 14 minutes to complete.
Capacity
Nine luxury air-conditioned trains operate
on the system with four cars per train. Trains seat 72 people with
standing room for an additional 228 riders.
