Roswell
Roswell, New Mexico is the site of the infamous UFO crash that
took place on July 2, 1947. Since that historic date and what
has now come to be known as "The Roswell Incident," the
city has attracted millions of UFO-lovers and visitors
from around the world.

Roswell UFO Crash
As the story goes... rancher Mac Brazel discovered a
large amount of crash debris scattered over a huge area
at Foster
Ranch, located about 75 miles northwest of Roswell.
It has also
been reported over the years that up to five alien bodies (perhaps
the remains of a crew) had been recovered from the
crash site.

The following day, Mac took some of the
crash debris to show the Sheriff, who in turn called Major
Jesse Marcel, the Intelligence Officer at Roswell
Army Air Field.
On July 8, 1947, under the orders of Colonel Blanchard,
the base Information Officer issued the infamous Press Release
that referred to the crash debris as a "Flying Saucer" — the
term "UFO" wasn't coined until after 1949.
The Press Release was written by Lt. Walter Haut (a founder
of and visitor to the International UFO Museum in Roswell, run
by his daughter).
The headline
in the newspapers read, "RAAF Captures Flying
Saucer on Ranch in Roswell Region."
The next day, General Ramey, the Commander of the 8th
Air Force, ordered that a "corrected" Press Release be issued stating
that the
so-called "Flying Saucer" was
infact a "Weather
Balloon" — and the rest as they say is history!
Many of you may recall the infamous "staged" newspaper photo (arranged
by General Ramey) of base Intelligence Officer Jesse Marcel (an
expert on state-of-the-art radar devices) holding up the remnants
of
a weather balloon
— and so began one of the greatest cover-ups of our time!

Replica of Roswell Crash Debris
Jesse Marcel Jr. (pictured above right) was one of the featured
speakers at a "Bay
Area UFO Expo" in
Santa Clara, California in 2007.
Jesse brought along an interesting artifact — a
replica of a piece of metal debris that his father (Jesse Marcel, the Intelligence
Officer at Roswell Army Air Field) had shown him following the
Roswell crash in 1947 (see photo below).
 The
dull gray metallic beam was approximately 12 inches long and three-eighths
of an
inch wide. One side of the I-beam featured about 30 purplish-colored geometric
symbols — squares,
circles, triangles, and pyramids (each one about 1/4 of an
inch tall).
Note: The "original"
metallic beam (and all other debris from the crash) was confiscated
by the military in 1947.
