Brooklyn Bridge
NY's Oldest & Most Famous Bridge
The Brooklyn Bridge is the oldest
and most famous bridge in New York. Over
100,000 people crossed the bridge on its historic opening day — May
24, 1883. It was designated a National Historic Landmark
in 1964.
Today, it is
a popular city attraction — and one of the most photographed
bridges in the world. A star in its own right (and an iconic part
of the New York City skyline), the bridge has been featured in
many movies and TV shows — its pedestrian walkway was
highlighted in a pivotal scene from the 2008 hit movie "Sex
in the City."

Brooklyn Bridge is 6016 feet long and spans the
East River, connecting lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.

125th Anniversary
The famous city landmark celebrated its 125th Anniversary on May 24, 2008 — fun
festivities were held over Memorial Day Weekend to celebrate the bridge's historic
opening.

Fulton Ferry Landing is
one of the best vantage points in the area for taking up-close
pictures of Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan's stunning skyline.
