New York City Attractions
Greenwich Village

Greenwich Village
Greenwich Village — also known as the West Village
— is one of our favorite areas in New York City.
Conveniently located in Lower Manhattan, tree-lined
Greenwich Village is dotted with historic townhouses, quaint little
cafés, neighborhood restaurants, nightclubs and specialty
shops.
 Greenwich
Village is a FUN walking town — and
great for people-watching!

Steeped in history, Greenwich Village was once
home to famous writers, poets and artists, including Edgar
Allan Poe, Mark Twain, Walt Whitman, Norman Rockwell, Jackson
Pollock, Mark Rothko, Willem de Kooning... to name a few.
 The Beat Generation
started here in the 1950s — Bob
Dylan, Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsburg and Dylan Thomas frequented
the area. Today, there are a few celebrities who reside in the
Village — keep a look-out next time you're in the area.

Greenwich Village Entertainment
Cherry Lane Theater
Cherry
Lane Theater
Catch a show here if you have time. Cherry Lane
Theater is New York's oldest, continuously running Off-Broadway
theater. Barbra
Streisand was
an usher here, prior to her fame.
Greenwich Village Specialty Shops
Greenwich Village has some wonderful little Specialty
Shops that you won't want to miss.
If you like cheese — we love it—
be sure to check out the very popular Murray's
Cheese Shop.

Murray's offers an amazing selection of domestic
and imported cheeses, olives, gourmet foods,
fresh pasta and
sauces, olive oils... and more.
Feeling hungry? Be sure to stop by John's
Pizzeria on Bleecker Street — their thin-crust Brick Oven Pizza
is delicious. Expect a line during peak times, but it's worth the wait.
SoHo District
SoHo is Manhattan's
most famous Art District, located just a short walk from the Village.

Street in Greenwich Village — is the narrowest house
in New York City.

Bleecker Street
Picturesque Bleecker Street, located in
the heart of Greenwich Village is one of the most famous streets in the area.
Home to some great little restaurants and shops, it's not to be missed.

Cornelia Street
Stroll along nearby Cornelia
Street, located just off Bleecker — it's packed with
trendy little restaurants and cafés.
