Crown Tickets

Statue of Liberty's Crown Tickets
The Statue of Liberty's Crown reopened to the public for the first time since 9/11 on July 4, 2009. Each year, a lottery will give everyone an equal chance to see the Statue of Liberty's Crown.

Make Crown Reservations online through the Statue Cruises web site or by phone: 877- LADY-TIX (877-523-9849) — up to one year in advance. Maximum 4 tickets per customer. Only one reservation is allowed per 6-month period.

Steep Spiral Staircase
— 354 Stairs

Visitors are required to climb a steep, narrow spiral staircase — 354 stairs to reach the Crown... and then down again. This is NOT recommended for anyone who is claustrophobic, suffers from vertigo or is out of shape. There's only one way up and one way down — no sliding down the rails, kids!

The Statue of Liberty has no air-conditioning, so be prepared for temperatures to be 20 degrees higher than outside. Be sure to drink plenty of water prior to your climb — note that there are NO restrooms in the statue.

Seven Points on Lady Liberty's Crown
The seven points on the Statue of Liberty's crown represents — 7 seas, 7 continents, 7 days of the week, 7 letters in liberty, 7 letters in America, 7 letters in New York...

Breathtaking Views
Once inside the Crown, the views overlooking New York's harbor and city skyline are truly magnificent!

Crown Visitors
Limited Numbers
Only about 20% of the 12,000-14,000 daily visitors to the Statue of Liberty will actually reach the Crown. That breaks down to only 280 people per day — or 30 people per hour. Groups of no more than 10 people will visit the crown at a time. If you're one of the lucky few to snag a Liberty Crown Ticket, here's what you can expect.

The Statue of Liberty is a FUN place to visit — even if don't get a chance to climb the 354 stairs to the Crown.
