Hendrix
Gallery
This is a must-see exhibit, especially for Jimmy Hendrix fans.
EMP features the most comprehensive exhibit ever dedicated to the
guitar legend
— including rare photos, posters, artifacts, clothing, electric
guitars and
more!

The photo above features the psychedelic stage
costume that Hendrix
wore during the 1970
Isle of Wight (UK) concert.

Milestones Special Exhibits Gallery —
Traveling
Exhibits
During a recent visit, we enjoyed one of the museum's "traveling" special
exhibits — "Bob
Dylan's American Journey 1956-1966."

As a Dylan fan, this was the highlight of our visit.
The fun interactive exhibit featured more than 150 artifacts, including
Dylan’s 1949 guitar, typed and handwritten
lyrics,
concert
posters, signed albums,
dozens of
old photographs, rare performance footage and interviews — we
even got to listen to our favorite Dylan songs in each of the exhibit's
six sound booths.

In September 2003, EMP launched its Traveling Exhibition
program
with Artist to Icon: Early Photographs of Elvis, Dylan and
The Beatles. Other Traveling Exhibits have included
Annie Leibovitz’s American Music to Sweet Home Chicago:
Big City Blues, 1946-1966 to Disco: A Decade of Saturday Nights.
