Trafalgar Square

Take a Double-Decker Bus Tour and visit Trafalgar Square, London

Trafalgar Square
Trafalgar Square was built in honor of Admiral Nelson — after his victory in 1805 at the Battle of Trafalgar.

The column (which stands in the heart of Trafalgar Square) was designed by John Nash in the 1830's — it stands 185 feet high and supports a 17-ft. high statue of Nelson.

Today, this famous square and fountain is popular with tourists and locals alike... even the pigeons flock here! It's a fun place to hang out and people-watch.

Trafalgar Square is located in the heart of London. It forms the junction of some of the London's busiest streets — the Strand, the Mall, Whitehall and Charing Cross Road.

London Landmark & Famous Church
Be sure to visit St Martin-in-the-Fields (a London landmark and famous church) and Café at the Crypt (fun place for casual British dining) when you're in Trafalgar Square.

Restaurants, shops and theaters are all located within easy walking distance from Trafalgar Square.

Must-See Museums
in Trafalgar Square

Two must-see museums are located just steps from Trafalgar Square — The National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery.

The National Portrait Gallery
London's National Portrait Gallery — home to the Largest Collection of Portraiture in the World.

The Gallery features over 1,000 Portraits — including Henry VIII, Florence Nightingale, The Beatles, and the Queen of England.

In Feburary 2010, we visited the museum to see the the first double portrait of Princes William and Harry — plus paintings of other Royals and pics of the late Princess Diana with her sons... and Prince Charles and the boys :)

Free Admission.
