Paris Area Attractions & Tours
Chateau de Versailles

Versailles
The Grand Apartments,
The Royal Chapel
and the Hall of Mirrors
where the Treaty of Versailles was signed are all
Self-Walking Tours, without a guide. Other sections of the Chateau
offer Guided Tours at specific times. Plan on spending at least
half a day at Versailles.
Versailles' Glorious Gardens
and Fountains
Wait until you see Versailles' stunning Gardens and Statues, and
the spectacular Fountains and Pools. It's the most beautiful landscaping
we've ever seen. Leave plenty of time to walk around and admire
the gardens. This is one photo opportunity you won't want to miss.
Horse-Drawn Carriages and Tram Rides are also available.
Train from Paris
Versailles is only a 30-minute, inexpensive train ride away from
Pairs. We took the RER (train) from Invalides station directly to
Versailles-Rive-Gauche station. Check with your concierge or Frommer's
guide for other station listings.
Directions from the station
to the Chateau
Exit station and turn right, and walk about 100 yards. Turn left
at the light and walk to the Chateau. You can't miss it (photo on
right).
Shuttle buses are also available.
