Shopping at Atlantis & Nassau
Atlantis Shopping
Atlantis has a variety of shops and haute couture
boutiques featuring everything from designer fashions, fine jewelry
and crystal, to Havana cigars, beach attire, and
Bahamian souvenirs.
Shops are located in each of the Atlantis Towers — Royal
Towers, Coral Towers and Beach Towers.
Marina
Village at Atlantis —
Bahamian marketplace features a variety of shops and restaurants.
Havana Cigars
Be sure to stop by the Havana
Cigar shop if you're interested in the cigar-making process — watch
as cigars are rolled in tobacco leaves before being boxed (photo
below).
 Duty-Free Shopping in Nassau
Plan to spend at least one day in Nassau if you have the time. Take a scenic
ferry ride from the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal.
Ferries depart about every 15-20 minutes. You can also take a taxi
or walk across the connecting bridge to Nassau — it's only a
short ride away and it makes a great day trip for shopping and sight-seeing.
And remember, all purchases in the Bahamas are duty-free.
Beach Shopping
Locals walk the beach selling their wares — coral, shell
and beaded jewelry, sarongs, t-shirts, and fun Bahamian souvenirs. Be sure
to bargain — it's half the fun! Note: This isn't like some of the resorts
we've visited where they constantly hassle you — if you're not interested,
they'll just keep walking.

The Straw Market in Nassau
No trip to the Bahamas would be complete without a visit to
The Straw Market.
This is one of the best-known shopping areas in Nassau (and all of New Providence
Island).

The giant flea market and its rows of narrow
stalls are filled with "over 500 vendors" selling everything
from shell necklaces, straw bags and
t-shirts, to sarongs, wood-carvings, and Bahamian souvenirs. Allow plenty of
time to browse
and shop...and bargain. Be prepared for crowds, especially when the cruise
ships are in port.

Bay Street in Nassau
Bay
Street,
the
main
shopping
area
in downtown
Nassau, is
loaded with specialty shops, designer boutiques,
and liquor stores offering a huge selection
of local rums. Visit the Pirates
of Nassau Museum and Gift Shop — they have a great selection
of pirate memorabilia.
