Getting Around London
Here are some transportation options for Getting Around London other
than walking.
The London Underground
The London Underground (referred to as "The Tube") is
a quick and easy way to get around town if you don't feel like walking,
or taking a taxi.
Underground stations are located all over town. Try to pick up
an Underground Map prior to your trip. We also recommend you purchase
an all-day Travel Card you can use it all day on both the Underground and Double-Decker Buses. It's more economical than
buying individual tickets, especially if you're planning on doing
a lot of traveling in London.
Train Schedules in UK and Europe

Heathrow Express
You can take the London Underground (the tube) directly from Heathrow
Airport (Terminal 4) into central London. It's a lot cheaper than
a taxi, but it might be more of a hassle, depending on how much
luggage you have. And it can get very crowded, especially during
rush-hour.

Double-Decker Buses
London's Double-Decker Buses are a another great way to get around
London. Climb up to the top deck for the best views.

We highly recommend taking a London
Sightseeing Tour aboard an open-topped double-decker bus.
You can hop-on and hop-off at sights along the route. It's informative
and fun, especially on a nice sunny day.

Taxis
London is famous for its roomy and clean taxis. Drivers
are professional, courteous and friendly...and unlike some of the

London Cable Car
London's Cable Car will be completed in time for the opening of the London 2012 Olympics on July 27, 2012. The first urban transport system of its kind in the UK, the Cable Car will span the River Thames — linking the Greenwich Peninsula in London's Southeast with the Royal Docks, located on the north bank of the Thames.
Cable Car design includes 34 separate gondola cabins, each carrying 10 passengers nearly 300 feet (90 meters) above the Thames.
The one-way Cable Car journey will take approximately five minutes. Over 2,500 passengers will be transported hourly; two million people are expected to use the cable car each year.
