If you're planning on taking a
Whale Watching Tour, the best time to observe these magnificent gray whales along the Pacific Coast is during their annual migration — south in December and January,
and north in March and April.

The Oceanic Society conducts three-hour Whale-Watching Tours from Pillar Point Harbor.

Directions to Pillar Point Harbor

From South or East Bay
Take Hwy 101, 280, or 880 to Highway 92 West. Turn right (North) on Hwy 1 in Half Moon Bay. Turn left (West) on Capistrano Road (light four miles north of Half Moon Bay). Take the first left into Pillar Point Harbor.

From the North Bay
Take Hwy 1 South seven miles past Pacifica. Turn right (West) on Capistrano Road, and take the first left into Pillar Point Harbor.
