Del Monte Forest
Inland Route (17-Mile Drive)
The first part of your journey along the 17-Mile Drive takes
you inland, through Del Monte Forest — it's about a 15-minute
drive before the route takes you along the coast. The road is
extremely windy and you need to pay attention to the signs.

Along
the way, you'll see magnificent homes, elegant resorts
and world-famous golf courses — The Links at Spanish
Bay, Spyglass Hill and the world-renowned Pebble Beach
Golf Links.
Del Monte Forest is also home to some of the most beautiful nature trails in
the country. Vista points along the way offer spectacular views of Monterey
Bay, its stunning coastline, Santa Cruz Mountains and Del Monte
Forest.

17-Mile Drive from Carmel
— "Carmel Gate"
If you're staying in Carmel, enter the 17-Mile Drive via the Carmel
Gate (off Ocean & San
Antonio, by the beach) and follow the route along the coast. You can also access
this entry gate if you're heading into Carmel from Hwy 1 (off Ocean Ave).
