The Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History is located in downtown
Pacific Grove,
on the Monterey Peninsula — about a five-minute walk
from Lovers Point and a 10-minute drive from Cannery Row.

Museum of Natural History
Permanent exhibits at the museum feature native plants, animals,
geology, and aboriginal populations of Monterey County. A variety
of special temporary exhibits are also displayed throughout the
year.
The Monterey County Birds exhibit contains 409 life-mounted
birds representing 291 species

Museum Gift Shop
Shop for natural history gifts, including books, posters, puzzles, games, toys,
puppets, minerals, fossils, and postcards.
The Museum Gift Shop is open Tues-Sat 10am-4:30pm.

across from the museum (on the corner of Central and Forest Avenues), just
up the
road
from Lovers Point.

Butterfly Docents
During the overwintering season (Oct thru' Feb), Butterfly Docents (provided
by the Pacific Grove Museum
of Natural History) are on site at the nearby Monarch
Grove Butterfly Sanctuary — daily from 12 noon-3pm to welcome visitors
and answer questions about the Monarch Butterflies.
The sanctuary is a FUN
place to visit, especially if you like butterflies.
