Top 10+ Napa Valley Restaurants
— Our Favorites & Most Popular

Fun Foodie Haven
Napa Valley Wine Country is one of Northern California's Top Culinary Destinations — and Yountville, a fun foodie haven, is known as the "Culinary Capital of the Valley."

We've put together a list and a brief description (in no particular order) of some of our favorite — and most popular restaurants:

Tell us about a few of your favorites!

1. Brix (Yountville)
Brix Restaurant
Brix Restaurant & Gardens is one of the most beautiful settings in Napa Valley. We love dining outdoors on the spacious patio, overlooking the gardens, vineyards and mountains. Keep a look-out for the Napa Valley Wine Train as it passes by — watch video below:

2. French Laundry (Yountville)
French Laundry
It's very expensive and hard to get a reservation, but dining at the French Laundry is a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Critically-acclaimed chef/owner Thomas Keller (winner of consecutive James Beard Awards, is the only American-born chef since 1900 to hold multiple three-star Michelin ratings. World-renowned for its creativity, fresh seasonal ingredients, sensational cuisine, fabulous presentation (as you can see from the pic below, each plate is a work of art), and impeccable service, the pricey restaurant is worth every penny!

3. Bottega (Yountville)
Bottega is the brainchild of Emmy-award winning Food Network celebrity and cookbook author, Michael Chiarello (former chef of St. Helena's Tra Vigne) — and it's one of the hottest restaurants (and bars) in Yountville!

4. Bouchon Bistro (Yountville)
Bouchon Bistro
One step into Bouchon and you'll feel as if you're inside a stylish Parisian bistro. The Napa Valley restaurant is the brainchild of restaurateurs Thomas Keller and Joseph Keller. (Thomas is chef/owner of the popular French Laundry.) Enjoy wonderful French bistro food in a fun setting.

Be sure to visit Bouchon Bakery (located adjacent to the bistro) — it's Yountville's most popular bakery, so don't be surprised to see a line out the door. Bet you can't resist one of their yummy pastries.

5. Bistro Jeanty (Yountville)
Bistro Jeanty
Classic brasserie-style French food and recreations of Philippe Jeanty's favorite childhood dishes have put Bistro Jeanty (a Michelin-star restaurant) on Napa's culinary map. The Creme de Tomate en Croute (Tomato Soup in Puff Pastry) appetizer is sensational — this dish alone is worth a trip to Bistro Jeanty!

St. Helena

6. Archetype (St. Helena)
Enjoy locally-farmed American food at this hot St. Helena restaurant located on Main Street. The dining room, designed by Archetype's founder and renowned architect, Howard Bracken, was named as one of the "10 Most Beautifully Designed" by Architectural Digest. Come and see (and taste) for yourself what makes this restaurant so popular with visitors and locals alike.

7. Harvest Table (St. Helena)
Harvest Table
California Bistro at its best! Enjoy gourmet food by Chef Charlie Palmer at Harvest Table, located in the Harvest Inn (just outside of downtown St. Helena). Impressive wine list. Romantic indoor setting and al fresco patio dining with twinkling lights and views of the redwoods... magical!

8. Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen
(St. Helena)

Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen
This St. Helena "hot spot" is popular with locals and tourists alike — Cindy Pawlcyn, a James Beard award-winning cookbook author, is the chef and owner of the delightful Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen. Sensational food and Cindy's cool zinc bar/ lounge is great for cocktails and people-watching. If you have time, check out Cindy's other highly successful Napa Valley "sister" restaurant — Mustards Grill in Yountville.

9. Wine Spectator
Greystone Restaurant
(St. Helena)

Flavors of the Mediterranean are highlighted and the restaurant also grows its own organic herbs and vegetables — providing diners with the freshest of ingredients. It's a FUN dining experience. Note: There's also a Gott's at Oxbow Public Market: And if you're visiting San Francisco, check out Gott's SF location at the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero.

11. Rutherford Grill (Rutherford)
Rutherford Grill
Great food, terrific ambiance in a casual, comfortable setting, friendly service, reasonable prices and a FUN bustling bar best sums up the Rutherford Grill. Be prepared to wait because this restaurant is very popular, especially during peak times and the busy tourist season. Whatever you do, don't pass up the Cornbread in the Skillet (stuffed with a hint of mild jalapenos) and crisped to perfection — it's the BEST cornbread we've ever tasted, bar none!

12. Auberge du Soleil
(St. Helena)
Auberge du Soleil
Fabulous food in an upscale setting. We like dining outside on the terrace — the views here are stunning, especially as the sun is setting. It's also an interesting place for people-watching — during our last visit, actor Robert Redford was seated at a nearby table.

Oenotri is one of Napa Valley's most popular restaurants —and considered by some as one of the best Italian restaurants in the U.S. Co-chef-owners Tyler Rodde and Curtis Di Fede create incredible Southern Italian specialities of Sicily, Campania, Calabria, Basilicata and Puglia.
