Castro Street
We love Castro Street — it's a fun place to hang out,
eat, shop, and people-watch. Like North Beach, it's one
of the
most cosmopolitan places in the city — it's also known for
its gay community, drawing tourists and locals
alike.
Castro Street (and it's little
side
streets and alleyways) are filled with trendy boutiques, art galleries, specialty
shops, fun restaurants, and hot bars and cafés.

Castro Street Parking
Parking can be difficult, especially on weekends and during special occasions
(Castro Street Fair and Halloween), so arrive early or take public transportation.
The underground MUNI train stops at Castro Station, right in the heart of Castro
Street.
If you're coming into SF from the Peninsula, we recommend taking BART
to Civic Center and transfering to MUNI — Castro Street is the third
stop.

Castro Street Fair
The annual Castro Street Fair (in

for shopping and people-watching!

Castro Halloween
Halloween is another FUN time to visit the Castro — it's
worth a trip just to see all the costumed revelers partying
in the streets. Be prepared for crowds — past years have
drawn thousands of people to the Castro to celebrate Halloween.
NOTE: There have been NO "official" S.F. Halloween events
planned over the last several years.
